Plan Your Own Enterprise (PYOE) Competition 2025

The Business Educators Australasia’s Plan Your Own Enterprise (PYOE) Competition is running again in 2025.

The competition involves students developing a creative enterprise idea and submitting a 3,500 word business plan that explains how this idea could become a profitable business. The plan needs to include details such as the business name, the goods or service to be sold, location, legal structure, staffing requirements, marketing strategies and financial plan.

Students can enter one of two divisions within the competition:

  • Division One – Open to individual student entries, submitted by students of any age, attending a registered secondary school.
  • Division Two – Open to group entries (maximum of 6 students), submiitted by students of any age, attending a registered secondary school.

There is no cost to enter the competition.

This competition can be incorporated into assessment tasks for both Commerce and/or Business Studies.

NSW entries are due by Friday September 12, 2025. All submissions need to have the PYOE entry form on the front page followed by the business plan itself.

These need to be posted to:

At the ceremony, the first, second and third placegetters will be announced in each division and awarded cash prizes!

The winner of each division from each state and territory in Australia will proceed onto the National Awards Ceremony where the national winners will be announced. National prizes include $1,500 cash for Division 1, and $1,000 cash for Division 2 (shared amongst the group).
